“ever since i can remember music has always been what i want to do. as an artist i’ve always had a need to express myself & the thoughts that are hardly ever heard. as a woman our thoughts & emotions are seen as weakness. to me it’s always just been human ; an underestimated strength. to keep your heart open to love & pain , process & let go is a super power. i’d never really had a direction for what i write about specifically. through growth & development of my sound , though , it’s a goal of mine to evoke the deepest of emotions from people. to touch what is already in their nature. emotions that have the ability to consume , kill & rebirth you. focusing on that darkness of the consumption is where i materialize my best ideas. wrapping myself in that alone has helped me grow stronger & more sure of myself as a woman. to be without fear of feeling. i’ll let love or pain consume me before i ever close my heart.”

my identification as a (black) queer woman is new, but its acceptance has allowed me to be free in ways that I could have never imagined. stepping into my sexuality allowed me to step out of the pressure of societal dating norms and expectations. it allowed me to step out of others dreams for my life and allowed me to imagine my own. and it allowed me to unlearn and relearn just who i am, in the comfort of my sexual ambiguity. i'm free.
